This has been a particularly eventful month so far for me, with a number of great things happening. And I’m feeling very blessed and grateful. It got me to thinking about how to express my gratitude so that those who support me understand how important they are to my life’s journey.
How do you show gratitude?
Everyone shows gratitude in different ways. I might send a card with a heart-felt note or make a phone call to tell someone how near and dear to my heart they are. Or, I might invite them for dinner and make an evening of it. I’ll be doing one or more of those things this weekend. How do you express your gratitude?
For me, letting people know how important they are to me, and that I couldn’t have done “it” without their love and support, helps me to feel balanced. I feel like I’m giving back in some small way what I get from my family, friends and colleagues. It helps me to stay humble.
We are not meant to do this life stuff alone so, when someone is “there” for me when I need them, I want them to know how much I appreciate the role they played — whether they listened to me vent, encouraged me to move forward or congratulated me for an accomplishment. It’s this kind of support that helps me stay on my charted path and on an even keel. Is there any thing or anyone you are grateful for?
“Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.” ~~~William Arthur Ward
So, to all my family, friends, colleagues and followers who read this blog, I want to say, “thank you” from the bottom of my heart for always being there for me — for being a part of my life and supporting me to do more, do better, think bigger, stretch to reach my goals and hold me accountable so that I accomplish what I set out to do. I want you to know how honored I am to have you all in my life. I am blessed. I am grateful.
Gratitude quotes often get me thinking
Here are some quotes about gratitude … sometimes I rely on the wisdom of others to help me express my own thoughts and feelings. One of these may resonate with you:
